The topic, Abraham Lincoln’s role in the abolition of slavery, was chosen for a variety of reasons. First of all, we decided that it was an important event in history. We thought we should have a better understanding of this topic since it is so major. Also, we wanted to find out more information about Abraham Lincoln and how he was considered a hero. Overall, we believe that this topic will expand our knowledge on history.
The research for this project was conducted using both primary and secondary sources. It ranged from websites, to articles in a newspaper, to speeches, and books. We gathered information and took out certain details that seemed to be important. Using the summaries that were written about each source, we built a website. Before writing the summaries, each source was thoroughly read.
We selected a website to present the information on Abraham Lincoln’s role in the abolition of slavery because it would show detailed information as well as graphics to represent it. Making various links that would lead a student to a better understanding on a topic that is so interesting created the project. It was quite simple, but took much effort to accomplish. Using a website would hopefully be easier to study the topic, since it shows different sections to separate it all.
